A mecca for Geology

The 3 billion year old rocks which surround us unlocked the theory of plate tectonics by geologists Peach and Horne who stayed at Inchnadamph Lodge over 100 years ago.

With Ben More, Conival and two Munros right behind us, there is a diversity of geological formations to explore all within walking distance of the Lodge. You'll find the the memorial to Peach and Horne right by us on Loch Assynt too.

Explore off the beaten track

Being right on the NC500 road makes it easy and quick to get anywhere, but the real prize is exploring off the beaten track.

We are located right at the heart of the Assynt landscape, just behind Loch Asynt and surrounded by spectacular mountains including Suilven, Ben More and Quinag. With the Bone Caves and Cape Wrath Trail also right on the doorstep, there's so much to see and do.

Get up close and personal with the outdoors; breathe in the fresh mountain air, feel the calm of the sea, or the rush of adrenaline.

Assynt History

Reviews

The location is beyond stunning, tucked into the hills of Inchnadamph with walking access to Loch Assynt, Trailgill Caves and Ben More Assynt. The valley is home to herds of red deer and we saw a whole herd of stags grazing in the field right outside our hut. You also have easy driving access to so many fabulous locations in the area - tons of hill walks, Ullapool, Lochinver, and the NC500. I cannot say enough how great our stay was. I'd give it 6 stars if I could!

This was one of our favourite places we stayed whilst my husband and I were hiking up in Northern Scotland. The staff helped us our above and beyond when we arrived and the room itself had great cooking facilities and was very comfortable and spacious.

We (husband, dog, & myself) stayed in “Quinag” for three nights...originally 2 but we just had to stay another night!! The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to make every meal, shower was hot, hosts were very kind, and the nature-setting was fantastic! Love hearing the stags call :)
